Commissioners consider reopening closed jail

Paulding County commissioners have ok’d a feasibility study to renovate the current sheriff’s office and hopefully reopen the jail. Right now, Paulding County prisoners are housed in Putnam County. That change happened seven years ago after voters refused an operating levy for the jail and forced it to close. Now, the Sheriff Jason Landers says the department wants to know what it will take to reopen the jail. County officials are hoping to get the study completed sometime in early summer.
