A Bryan woman faces dozens of charges in Branch County, Michigan. Kathy Jo Contreras is accused of stealing from the Girl Scouts of America…to the tune of $1,280 from three Girl Scout accounts on 11 occasions without authorization. A Michigan State Police investigation started in May and a warrant for her arrest was issued. Contreras faces 33 charges in all for forgery and identity theft…felonies with a maximum penalty of 14 years or more. A probably cause hearing is set for Jan. 2.
