Coressel avoids prison in Sherwood robbery

A Ney man avoided prison and was given community control Monday for his involvement in a robbery in Sherwood at the Village Food Emporium. Damon Coressel was placed on community control for three years and ordered to pay restitution by Defiance County Common Pleas Judge Joseph Schmenk on a charge of robbery.
If he violates community control terms, he’ll face a 36-month prison term.
and $1,000 restitution. Another defendant in the case, DeQauvis Farris, is awaiting his case to come up in common pleas court.
