In the aftermath of the primary postponement…all votes already cast in Williams County’s 2020 primary election are still valid and are being securely stored. A total of 1,089 votes had been cast in the Williams County Board of Elections office in Bryan, with it having received 1,406 total leading up to the original in-person voting day. With the delay, voters in possession of the 400 ballots that had yet to be returned now still have time. A directive, issued by the state, informed local-level board of elections directors that Election Day in-person voting was not to occur as planned…due to the state health department declaring a health emergency.
