Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio approves the budget for next year.

The Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio approves the budget for next year, which includes some member jurisdictions taking fewer beds for the year. Those decreases amount to a reduction of $95,561 dollars and an overall personnel expense reduction of $182 thousand. Officials say the regional jail will be reducing budgeted positions through attrition. The change in bed allocations results in a $79.67 per diem rate for member jurisdictions. The board also approved transferring $300,000 dollars from this year’s budget to the 2024 budget to help cover health care costs. A new five-year contract for meals and commissary services was approved for Aramark. The meal cost at CCNO will go from the current 90 cents per meal to $1.21, while meals at the juvenile detention center will rise from $2.21 to $2.50. CCNO will receive 30% of the commissary profit, while a 5% increase in commissary items will be included. A three-year contract with Findlay for beds was also approved by the board, with the rate being $89.67 per diem next year.
