County Sales Tax Report

Sales tax receipts rose in five of six area coun­ties in 2013 com­pared to 2012.

Williams County, along with Defi­ance, Henry, Pauld­ing, and Put­nam coun­ties all saw an increase, although most were slight. Defi­ance County had the most with a 5.2 per­cent increase.

Only one local county, Ful­ton, reported a decrease,

Sales taxes pro­vide a sig­nif­i­cant part of each county’s gen­eral fund rev­enue., and they vary among the local coun­ties.

Statewide, the sales tax rate for 2014 is 5.75 per­cent.

Each indi­vid­ual county’s rate is added to the state rate. Some county rates can be as much as 2.25 percent.
