Customers of Toledo Edison will see an increase in their electric bills. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), gave a green light last week to a rate hike for FirstEnergy electric customers. FirstEnergy is the parent company of Toledo Edison, which supplies electricity to many areas of northwest Ohio, including parts of Williams County. FirstEnergy had requested a rate hike that would bring in $558 million annually. The PUCO limited the rate increase to $132.5 million per year. According to the PUCO, an average residential customer using 750 kilowatt-hours per month can expect to see bills increase by no more than an estimated $3 per month.
