Dan Griffin named Edgerton police chief

Dan Griffin was named Edgerton police chief earlier this week. Griffin began as a part-time patrolman in Edgerton in 1999, went to full-time in 2002 and has been a sergeant in Edgerton since 2004. He takes over for former chief Jeremy Jones. Griffin oversees a force of 12, including 10 part-time officers. He said finding qualified personnel is one of the biggest challenges of being a small town chief. The other is working to stem the tide of drug abuse and crime associated with it.
