Danny C. Sovine, 63, of Stryker passed away early Monday morning at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on January 22, 1954 in Huntington, West Virginia to Denzil C. and Dova L. (Erwin) Sovine. Danny graduated from Hurricane High School, and attended Northwest State Community Colleges. On August 29, 1975, he married Susan L. Ward.
Danny was a former Scout Leader and coached Pony League in Bryan. He retired from Sauder’s in Archbold. Danny loved sports, he was a die-hard West Virginia fan. He was an awesome father and he adored his grandchildren. He loved donating his time to all of the different activities that his children were a part of.
He is survived by his children, Emily Sovine of Montpelier and Robert (Jordin) Sovine of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren Derek Sovine and Dominik Keezer, and one on the way; best friend Bill Murphy of Padre Island, Texas; and former spouse Susan L. Ward of Montpelier.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eddie Sovine and best friend Michael Welsh.
Visitation for Danny will be on Thursday, March 30th from 3-5:30pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpeleir. Services will follow at 5:30pm at the funeral home with Pastor Don Harris to officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to the Williams County Humane Society or to the family to help defray funeral costs.
