David L. Seslar, 75

David L. Seslar, age 75, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away at 7:47 A.M. on Friday, August 10, 2018, at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a patient. Mr. Seslar was a 1963 graduate of Edgerton High School, where he was lettered four years as a catcher on the baseball team, was a member of the first wrestling team at the school and was a member of the FFA. After graduation he was employed at Edgerton Manufacturing until the plant closed and then was employed by Landmark, which eventually became Edon Farmers Co-op in Edgerton, from where he retired. An avid sports fan, he loved the Cleveland Indians, the Ohio State Buckeyes and his home town Edgerton Bulldog teams. For more than thirty years he coached baseball from Little League to Acme League in Edgerton, even taking over a Little League team only two weeks after he was married. A very giving person, for more than thirty years he was the village Santa and also was Santa to many organizations, schools and charities, many years playing the part upwards of one hundred fifty times in one season. He was active in the community as a charter member of the Edgerton Lions Club, of which he had served as president numerous times, and attended Life Changing Realities Fellowship in Edgerton. David also was an avid collector of sports memorabilia, attending antique auctions and baseball card shows.

David L. Seslar was born on March 11, 1943, in Edgerton, the son of Gilbert L. and Anna Marie (Sites) Seslar. He married Brenda S. Moss on March 22, 1975, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, Jon Seslar, of Edgerton; a brother, Larry (Linda) Seslar, of Bryan; one sister, Karen Gardner, of Edon; and a sister-in-law, Diane Seslar, of Edgerton. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Terry and Jerry Seslar; and three sisters, Carolyn McDorman and Nancy and Ruth Ann Seslar.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, from 11:00 A.M.-1:30 P.M. at Life Changing Realities Fellowship in Edgerton. Services will follow at 1:30 P.M. in the church with Pastors Byron Adams and Scott Carlin officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
