One man is dead after an accident in Steuben County. Investigators say Shawn Alston of Chesterfield, Virginia was westbound on the Turnpike, one-half mile east of the Fremont exit. Alston’s truck went through the center median and into the eastbound lanes of traffic. It was struck by a semi, driven by Derwin Patton of LaGrange. Following that, another tractor trailer runs in to the back of the second semi. Alston died at the scene. Patton was taken to Parkview Regional in Fort Wayne with non-life-threatening injuries.
