Deadly Head On Near Avila

Charges are pending against a woman who police believe had been drinking when she drove her mini-van north in the south-bound lanes of State Road 3 in Noble County, near Avila. Carolyn Gibson of Garrett struck an SUV with four people inside, killing two. Officers received a call of a wrong-way driver approaching Weimer Road on 3. When deputies arrived on the scene they found two vehicles had been involved in the crash.
