Defiance County commissioners discussed the operation of a future new senior center in Hicksville during their meeting Monday. Commissioners have been deeded the former Vancrest property at 401 Fountain St. in Hicksville, but have determined that investing in a multi-million-dollar renovation of the building for use as a senior center is not cost effective. As such, they have resolved to tear down the building and construct a new senior center to replace the one at 708 E. High St.
