Defiance College continued one of its most enduring campus traditions Thursday.

Defiance College continued one of its most enduring campus traditions on Thursday evening as faculty and staff gathered to serve Thanksgiving dinner to DC students. This annual event has been held for generations at the college, according to a media release from DC. While exact records from the early years are difficult to pinpoint, campus archives and alumni accounts indicate that the tradition of faculty and staff serving the Thanksgiving meal likely began sometime in the 1970s, possibly earlier, the media release noted. References to an annual Thanksgiving dinner appear in campus newsletters from the late 1970s, though they do not explicitly state who was serving the meal. One alumnus recalled faculty and staff participating as early as 1969.
