A Defiance County man was sentenced to prison Tuesday in Henry County Common Pleas Court for causing a traffic fatality last year on U.S. 24 while under the influence. 39 year old Christopher Borstelman was given a 54-month prison term by Visiting Judge James Bates on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide, a third-degree felony. Henry County Common Pleas Judge Amy Rosebrook withdrew from the case because she had a “close connection” with the victim, according to court documents. Borstelman had pleaded guilty to the charge on Oct. 16 when a pre-sentence investigation was ordered.
