Dog license fees will be going up next year in Defi­ance County.

County com­mis­sion­ers on Mon­day approved a res­o­lu­tion increas­ing dog license fees effec­tive this Decem­ber first.

The annual fee will increase from $16 to $20. Also, a $20 late fee penalty will now be enforced. The charge for the new three-year license option will be $60, and the per­ma­nent license option — good for a sin­gle dog — will be $200.

Dogs over the age of 3 months must be licensed.
