Another top 100 list, this time ranking hundreds of cities for quality of life for first responders. Defiance squeaked in the list of the top 100, looking at salaries, access to the most affordable housing, lower crime rates to deal with and better job opportunities available to them.
GoodCall.com has Angola, Indiana at 15th best in the nation, Fort Wayne is 73rd. Findlay is 92nd, and Defiance is 98th best, out of 900 cities. The website spokeswoman said “While all cities value their first responders, there are some parts of the country that offer a considerably better opportunity for first responders.”
Cities were ranked on four criteria: affordability for local police, firefighter and EMTs, job competition, crime ratings, and lifestyle amenities.
