DEFIANCE MAN SHOT IN TOLEDO

Police say a teacher who was try­ing to help a stray dog in the park­ing lot of ele­men­tary school in Toledo, found a man who had been shot.

The teacher says the man just came right up to her and told her that he’d been shot.

Toledo police say Matthew Roehrig of Defi­ance told offi­cers that he was shot in the back after he had stopped and asked some­one for direc­tions.

Police say Roehrig was taken to a hos­pi­tal for treat­ment and his injuries were not life-threatening.

The shoot­ing hap­pened near an ele­men­tary school dur­ing parent-teacher con­fer­ences and led to a 30-minute lockdown.
