DEFIANCE POLICE WARN OF DEBIT CARD SCAM

Defiance Police warn of a debit card scam. They have heard from Midwest Community Federal Credit Union of several customers who reported receiving calls stating their debit cards had been canceled.

The people were then asked to provide the callers with their debit card number.

Police say it’s a scam and that you should never provide anyone with any personal identifying information unless you initiated the call and you are absolutely certain who you are talking too. Anyone who might have received such a call should contact their local financial institution and local police.
