DEFIANCE TAX REVENUE UP, WILLIAMS DOWN

Defi­ance County sales tax rev­enue is reported to be up more than 4 per­cent com­pared to this time last year.

From Jan­u­ary to June, Defi­ance County has received more than $2.5 Mil­lion in sales tax. That fig­ure rep­re­sents an increase of 4.4 per­cent, over the amount col­lected in the same period dur­ing 2012.

Pauld­ing and Put­nam coun­ties also show slightly higher fig­ures so far this year.

Other area coun­ties includ­ing Henry, Ful­ton, and Williams, have received less so far this year.

Henry County shows 4.1 per­cent less, while Ful­ton turned in a 1.7 per­cent decrease and Williams County reported a 2 per­cent decrease in sales tax revenue.
