Donald J. Wehrle, 71

Donald J. Wehrle, age 71, of Edon, Ohio, passed away at 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, where he was a patient, after a brief illness. Mr. Wehrle was a graduate of Edon High School and was a self-employed truck driver, working from the age of eighteen until his retirement in 2017. Donny enjoyed being in his truck and working on and restoring old tractors.

Donald J. Wehrle was born on March 11, 1949, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Lavon Albert and Helen Ruby (Stackhouse) Wehrle. He married Melinda S. Baughman on November 21, 1985, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Josh (Nickie) Wehrle, of Pioneer, Ohio, one stepson, Adam Deetz, of Wolcottville, Indiana; seven grandchildren; his siblings, Judy (Doug) Strock, of Butler, Indiana, Diane (Kent) Burkholder, of Bryan, Ohio, Linda (Don) Crawford, of Edon, Janis (Dennis) Green, of Bryan, Douglas (Roberta) Wehrle, of Blakeslee, Ohio, David (Sandy) Wehrle, of Edon, Lisa (Larry) Finch, of Edgerton, Ohio, Brenda (Kevin) Mercer, of Montpelier, Ohio, Karen (Chris) Hulbert, of Moulton, Alabama, and Kay (Brad) Fritch, of Edgerton; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Edwin Wehrle; and one sister, Rita Wehrle.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, from 1:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Private grave side services and interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Blakeslee, Ohio.

Due to the ongoing pandemic restrictions, recommended social distancing and occupancy for the funeral home will be observed. The wearing of masks is encouraged. Anyone showing any symptoms of infection may share their condolences by phone, email, text message, or leaving a condolence on the funeral home website.
