Dorothy M. Altman, age 84, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 8:55 P.M. on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, after a brief illness. Mrs. Altman was a homemaker and had also worked at The Aro Corporation in Bryan and for many years in the cafeteria of North Central Schools. She enjoyed crocheting and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers.
Dorothy M. Altman was born on July 11, 1932, in West Jefferson, Ohio, the daughter of Vern and Maudie (Mercer) Harrington. She married Paul I. Altman on April 24, 1953, in Angola, Indiana, and he survives.
Survivors also include one son, Larry (Helen) Altman, of Montpelier; one daughter, Christine (Kevin) Cogswell, of Lake Seneca; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Grace (Max) Esterline, of Pioneer, Ohio, and Faye Swank, of Montpelier. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Luther, Ed and Clarence Harrington.
Grave side services will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at 2:30 P.M. in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
