Douglas J. Miller, 96

Douglas J. Miller, 96, of Richmond, Indiana and formerly of Hicksville, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Indiana. Douglas was born July 26, 1927, in Hicksville, Ohio, son of the late Paul and Pauline (Coburn) Miller. He was a graduate of Hicksville High School. Douglas married Jeanne Laub on September 22, 1946, in Hicksville, Ohio, and she preceded him in death. Douglas was a life-long farmer in the Hicksville, Antwerp and Butler, Indiana area. After farming, he worked for Tri Wall Containers, Butler, Indiana. Douglas attended Church of Christ in Hicksville, Antwerp and Butler, Indiana where he was very active and served as an Elder, Deacon, and Sunday school teacher. After retirement he moved to Richmond, Indiana. In his free time, he enjoyed flower gardening and cherished spending time with his family. Above all, Douglas was faithful to God and his church.

Surviving is his son, Allen (Linda) Miller of Sebring, Florida; daughter-in-law, Gail Miller of Richmond, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Mariah, Erin, Rebekah, Stephanie, Laura, Andrea, and Chloe; two step grandchildren, Nikki, and Amber; many great-grandchildren. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanne; son, Gordon Miller; sister, Patricia Miller; brother-in-law, Norm Miller.

Visitation for Douglas will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio with funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Michael officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
