Drones over the turnpike coming on September 13

Drivers on the Ohio Turnpike may look up next month and see something that will catch their attention and maybe even keep them safe, but it’s not Superman. The Ohio Turnpike is putting a new technology of drones to work. Turnpike officials hope to keep a closer eye on its bridges by using the drones. Hundreds of t housands of cars and trucks drive over the turnpike every day, which puts stress on a bridges and other road structures and using the drones will hopefully be an effective way to inspect them for cracks or other issues. A stretch of the Turnpike near Fremont, Ohio has been chosen for the pilot inspection. The drones are set to fly on September 13th.
