Dumpster death will not result in charges

It’s taken nearly 17 years, but finally a Sandusky grand jury today decided that no charges will be filed after a man was crushed inside a garbage truck outside a tavern in 1999. The 21-year-old man had been inside a Dumpster that was emptied into a garbage truck and then crushed. He was found by the driver. Last year, an anonymous tip that a former detective may have helped put the man in the Dumpster as a joke sparked a new investigation. The grand jury concluded that there was no evidence of a criminal act. And if it were true, the statute of limitations had run out on a charge of negligent homicide.
