Dwight Moorhead, 71

Dwight J. Moorhead, 71 years, of Bryan, and a former lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2015 in his residence with his wife at his side.  Dwight was born November 3, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Jack and June (Parker) Moorhead.  He was a 1961 graduate of Baldwin High School.  Dwight then attended Defiance College where he attained his Bachelors of Arts degree in 1965.  He also had attended Point Park College in Pittsburgh.  He married Mary Kay McKarns on July 1, 1967 in Pulaski United Methodist Church, rural Bryan.  Dwight worked at several advertising agencies in the Pittsburgh area until he began his own advertising agency.  After many years in the advertising industry, Dwight became a financial advisor and later joined a prestigious stock brokerage firm in Pittsburgh until his retirement in 2008.  Dwight and May Kay moved to Bryan in 2013.  Dwight loved to golf and was a former member of Arnold Palmer’s Country Club in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.  He also enjoyed gardening and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins fan.  He was a former member of Windover Hills United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh and became a member of Pulaski United Methodist Church in Bryan.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Kay of Bryan; one brother, Darrell (Cheryl) Moorhead; two nephews, Derek Moorhead and Jay (Lauren) Moorhead and one great-nephew, Jack Moorhead.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Willis and Edna McKarns.

Visitation for Dwight J. Moorhead will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where Masonic Services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Thursday,  in the funeral home with Ted Mathes officiating.  Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan.
