A Hillsdale man is sentenced to 180 days in prison for a May 2016 crash south of Pioneer that claimed his passenger. In July, Scottie Eagle pled no contest and was found guilty on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide. Eagle was driving north on County Road 15, when he lost control of his SUV south of County Road P. The vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and rolled several times before coming to a rest on its passenger side in a field. Investigators determined excessive speed was a factor in the crash. Of the 180-day sentence, 120 days were suspended, pending Eagle’s compliance with terms of his probation.
