EDGERTON MEETS… NEW FISCAL MANAGER; CHANGE IN REFUSE COLLECTION COMING

Edgerton Village Council hired a new fiscal officer and made changes pertaining to trash pick-up at Monday’s meeting.

The Bryan Times reports that Council approved the hire of William Blakely as fiscal officer for the village. Blakely graduated from Edgerton High School in 2000, received his degree from DeVry University, and comes to Edgerton from the accounting firm of Penrod and George in Bryan.

Edgerton also plans now to eliminate contracts with both the village trash service provider and the recycling company effective June 30th, and will rebid the contract.

Currently, residents pay for trash pick-up and recycling service through their village utility bill.

They are now looking for one service provider who will bill residents directly. Recycling pick-up would likely be every two weeks, and large trash pick-up curbside would no longer be available.
