Edon officials are reconsidering the construction of a new water treatment plant, in favor of making updates to the current one. A new plant would cost approximately $1 million, with nearly $900,000 supposed to be paid for with grant money. Edon Village Administrator, Chad Ordway says the town had received $375,000 in grants already and was in the process of getting an additional $500,000 grant, but that wasn’t going well. Ordway suggested scrapping the plans for a new plant and instead spending between $80,000 and $100,000 in maintenance to the current facility.
