Elderly man dies in pond

An elderly man from Defiance man reportedly drowned late last week. The man, 73-year-old James Greenler went into the pond on Buckskin Rd., just northwest of the city and didn’t resurface. A dive team was able to find and retrieve the man’s body. He was pronounced dead at Defiance Regional Medical Center. There was no indication of foul play in Greenler’s death.
