Eugene Head, 71

Eugene Head, 71 years, of Stryker, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home where he was a resident.  Eugene was born April 28, 1944 in Sawyer, Kentucky, the son of John Ross and Carrie (Spradlin) Head.  A Navy veteran of the Viet Nam Era, Eugene was a Machine Operator for the former ARO Corp.  He was a member of the Montpelier Eagles Aerie 2246, a life member of the Bryan VFW Post 2489 and AMVETS Post 54.

Surviving are his two sons, William (Beth) Head of Montpelier and Tim (Kelly) Head of Montpelier; three grandchildren, Jordan Stoy, Jarryn and Derrek Head; one great-granddaughter, Nicole Head; his mother, Carrie Wilson of Florida; his companion, Jane Lang of Stryker; one brother, Glen (Shannon) Head of South Carolina; one sister, Mae Hamilton of Florida and his former spouse, Jewel Head of Montpelier.  He was preceded in death by his father, John Ross Head, stepfather, Bobby Wilson, maternal grandfather, Elijah Spradlin and a cousin, John Vanover.

A celebration of life for Eugene Head will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Montpelier Eagles Aerie 2246, 214 North Jonesville Street, Montpelier, Ohio. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio.
