FARMERS GETTING DOWN WITH THE WORK

It’s been called the biggest gamble on earth… It’s also been called farming.

Farmers are now taking to the fields to get a start on planting after a very wet April prevented many farmers from getting started until recently.

Ag experts expect to see a lot of activity out in the fields over the next couple of weeks.

According to the Ohio field office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agriculture Statistics Office, only 7 percent of corn had been planted as of May 5. Typically, 39 percent is planted by then in our area.
