A fatal plane crash in rural Paulding County…
Emergency responders were called to a field near County Road 60 and County Road 137 around 6 last evening. That’s about two miles north of Grover Hill and just a couple miles east of Wayne Trace High School where a small plane reportedly crashed into a field.
Witnesses say the plane was on fire before it crashed. Debris is reportedly scattered in an area about 100 yards by 100 yards in a field directly across the road from a house. It’s believed the plane may have been en route to Toledo from Fort Wayne, but details are still sketchy. No word yet on just how many people were on board the plane, and no names have been released.
The Federal Aviation Administration arrived around 11 last night, and the National Transportation Safety Board is expected to arrive today.
