Fatal Crash

A two-vehicle crash Wednes­day after­noon left a Mel­rose teen dead, and another man seri­ously injured.

The Ohio High­way Patrol reports that 17 year old Robert Sef­fer­nick died at the scene of the crash on Ohio 637 in Van Wert County. It hap­pened yes­ter­day just before 3pm.

64 year old David Simko of Toledo, was taken by heli­copter to Parkview North Regional Med­ical Cen­ter in Fort Wayne with “seri­ous injuries.“

The High­way Patrol says both dri­vers were wear­ing seat belts.
