Fatal Crash In Defiance

A Defiance woman dies following a solo crash. Ouida Johnson, 63, was taken from the scene by the Defiance Fire Department to ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Investigators say Johnson was southbound on Jefferson Avenue and left the roadway, striking a tree…this after reportedly suffering a medical emergency. The vehicle then entered the street, striking a vehicle driven by Maria Rocha and a tree on the east side of the roadway. Johnson was found to be unresponsive and transported to the hospital. Rocha and her passenger were taken to Mercy Defiance Hospital for minor injuries.
