Fatal Crash In DKC

A Butler woman dies…after crashing, head-on, into a big rig, just east of Kendallville. Officials tell reporters… Chantel Wells, 30, was on U.S. 6…when she drove into the path of the oncoming semi. The collision causes Wells’ vehicle to roll into a ditch…she was ejected. The semi also jack-knifed into the ditch. Wells was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, Stacy Hagerty, 57, was taken to the hospital, with minor injuries. The crash is under investigation by the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department.
