Festivals this weekend

Festival season is here. This Thursday, Edgerton’s Homecoming Celebration begins and lasts through Sunday. The town-wide garage sale is all day Friday, then the Children’s parade is Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Edgerton library. There’s also a corn hole tournament at 6 pm and Texas Hold ‘Em at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, a parade kicks off at Miller Park at 11 a.m. followed by a water ball tournament. Music, food, beer, shopping and a cruise-in car show on Sunday.
West Unity will kick off “Gathering in West Unity” on Friday and Saturday. It’ll be held at Memorial Park. A chicken barbeque at the shelter house will start at 5 p.m., with live music and tractor pulls. There’s a Saturday pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. for a donation and all day a pedal-tractor pull and antique tractor pull. Vendors, crafts, food and games, plus a Hilltop alumni softball game.
In Pioneer, Germanfest is this weekend, Friday and Saturday. Live music, beer, good food and a parade Saturday at 11 a.m. Dinner and a movie at the park with mayor at dark.
