A fire that started Wednesday afternoon destroyed a Flickinger Road home about six miles west of Defiance. Delaware Township firefighters were called to the home located between Ohio 18 and Lockwood Road around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a call from the homeowners, Cheryl and Michael King. Both occupants made it out of the home without injury. according to Delaware Township Fire Chief Phil Brunner. The cause of the fire was a woodburner chimney. Brunner estimated damage at $125,000-$150,000, including contents. The home was a total loss.
