Fire destroys house in the 300 block of Seneca Drive

The cause of Wednesday morning’s fire at at a house in the 300 block of Seneca Drive has yet to be determined but the destruction was complete. Six fire departments responded at 9 a.m. but the home was fully involved when the first engine arrived, according to Pioneer Fire Chief Denny Fackler. Fackler said the fire started at the back of the structure, on the south side facing Lake Seneca. The cause wasn’t immediately apparent but did not appear suspicious. No one was at home when the blaze occured. The heat from the blaze was so intense it melted siding off the west side of the neighboring house. The blaze took about 90 minutes to extinguish. No injuries were reported.
