Former Hillsdale College student arrested for making threats to the campus

A former student is in custody after Hillsdale College and other schools in the Hillsdale, Michigan area were placed in a lockdown status Wednesday following an active threat to the school. Hillsdale Police Department and Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office swarmed the college campus just before noon on Wednesday after being alerted to the threat. The suspect, former Hillsdale College student Michael Lafountain was apprehended by Coldwater, Michigan police just after 2 p.m. Lafountain, a former student and Alpha Tau Omega “house dad” who left campus last semester, reportedly made threats of violence aimed at the campus and was en route from Branch Countydale, Michigan area were placed in a lockdown status Wednesday following an active threat to the school.
