Former WEDCO Head Headed To Jail

The former head of the Williams County Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO), has been sentenced on OVI charges in Bryan Municipal Court.

Diamond Zimmerman was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail, with 70 days suspended… as long as she has no new violations within two years. Zimmerman will also lose her drivers license for one year, and she was ordered to pay $839 in fines, plus court costs. She also must continue with counseling.

Zimmerman resigned from WEDCO following her arrest last October. Originally, she had pleaded not guilty, but then changed that plea to no contest. It wasn’t her first conviction for driving drunk. Zimmerman was convicted of OVI back in 2011 too.
