Fair goers can attend the Williams County Fair for free on Thursday, Sept. 14, thanks to a “substantial” donation by the Williams County beef, pork and dairy producers groups. The announcement was made by Fair Board Vice President Al Bennett at Thursday’s special board meeting. The free admission is all-day, but only for Sept. 14. Bennett said the idea of a free admission “Commodity Day” was broached by representatives of the commodity groups several months ago. He called the gesture, “very generous” and said this is the first time the fair will have a Commodity Day like this. The Williams County Fair is Sept. 9-16.
