Fun In Montpelier

Hot air balloon burners roared to life, sending a wave of heat in downtown Montpelier, as the mayor and hundreds of people downtown celebrated the annual Bean Days Balloon Festival Friday. Hundreds flocked the downtown streets. Several businesses and organizations were set up on the sidewalk, handing out little cups of the best baked beans they could create. Hungry citizens eagerly gobbled them up before voting on their favorite. This year, the first place winner was State Bank with The Leader Enterprise as the runner up.
