House Bill 96, which has passed the Ohio House of Representatives, includes a 35% funding reduction in H2Ohio, according to the County Commissioners Association of Ohio. Unveiled in 2019, the plan was meant to help prevent algal blooms in Lake Erie, improve wastewater infrastructure, replace failing home septic systems and prevent lead contamination in high-risk daycare centers and schools.
