Gambling Raids In The Area

A full scale investigation is underway in Williams and Henry Counties, after authorities raided four businesses Thursday.

Agents with the Ohio Investigative Unit, along with Bryan and Montpelier police officer, executed three search warrants in what they are calling a joint illegal gambling investigation.

The search warrants were executed at Cut-Rate Tobacco shops in Bryan and Montpelier, and at the Petro 2 Truck Stop in Napoleon. Citations were issued against Petro 2 Truck Stop’s liquor permit in connection with illegal gambling. In the searches conducted in Bryan and Montpelier, eight slot machines, one quarter push machine, records, and cash were seized, and investigators say criminal charges are pending.

At Cut-Rate Tobacco in Napoleon, 11 alleged gaming machines were confiscated, along with cash and other evidence. That investigation is still underway, and so far, no charges have been filed.
