Geneva Barnhart, 91

Geneva I. Barnhart, 91 years, of Bryan, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, Bryan, Ohio.  Geneva was born May 1, 1923 in West Unity, Ohio, the daughter of the late Vernon and Lela (Booerman) Fisher.  She married James D. Barnhart in West Unity, on August 3, 1940, and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1994.  Geneva was a Press operator for Strydel.  Prior to this, Geneva worked at the Carbon Factory in West Unity.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bryan.  Geneva enjoyed working word puzzles and spending time with her family.

Surviving is her daughter, Patricia Barnhart of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one son, James (Lee) Barnhart of Mansfield, Massachusetts; six grandchildren, Jennifer Barnhart of Attleboro, Massachusetts, Justin Barnhart of Taunton, Massachusetts, Susan (George) Bryant of Stryker, Sarah (Kevin) Chookie of Warsaw, Indiana, Robert Huffman of Bryan and Jeff (Madalina) Huffman of West Palm Beach, Florida; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Allen, Jacob Allen, Courtney Chookie, Austin Huffman and Sofia Huffman; one brother, Gardner (Betty) Siders of Bryan.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James one daughter, Ellen Martin, one grandson, Joshua Barnhart and her only sister, Virginia Drake.

Visitation for Geneva I. Barnhart will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home –Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan.  Funeral services for Geneva I. Barnhart will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating.  Interment will follow in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity, Ohio.
