Gerald V. Smith, age 81, of Delta, passed away Tuesday morning, December 3, 2013 at Swanton Valley Center.
Gerald was born in Wauseon on may 27, 1932, the son of Ralph and Fannie (Soles) Smith. In the past, Gerald attended the Shiloh Christian Union Church. Surviving is one sister, Janies Thatcher and Robert Bechstein of Swanton, and two brothers, Bud (Unabelle) Smith of Delta and Elgin (Donelda) Smith, also of Delta. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Joice Smith and two brothers, Merlin and Cloyce Smith.
Visitation for Gerald will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Shiloh Christian Union Church, near Delta, where the service will be held at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Chuck Whitmire, officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Heartland Hospice. Grisier Funeral Home in Delta has been entrusted with arrangements.
