Geraldine {Gerrie} Glenn, 94

Geraldine {Gerrie} Glenn passed away peacefully on December 14, 2016. She was born to Curtis Boggs and Grace Mitchell Secrest on May 29, 1922 in Earlham, Iowa where she also attended school, graduating in 1940.

She was truly a woman before her time, owning and operating her own clothing store in the late 1960’s before moving to Archbold, Ohio in 1972. She then worked for Sauders for 17 years before retiring in 1988.

Through the years she was a beautiful seamstress and a wonderful cook. Many family gatherings and holidays included her wide array of cookies, candy and home made rolls all made from scratch and enjoyed by everyone.

She loved and anticipated the many family trips to several destinations including, Florida, Isle of Palms, South Carolina and various sites in California. One of her most memorable journeys was to Pasadena to watch her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes play in the Rose Bowl. Subsequent trips to view the Rose Bowl Parade would follow as she was in awe of the all the beautiful flowers. She was also a life long St. Louis Cardinals fan and a die hard Democrat.

She continued to enjoy shopping trips and kept up on all sporting events and current affairs until shortly before she passed.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews and countless friends. She is survived by her two daughters; Sharon {Max} Stuckey of Archbold, Ohio and Cynthia {Steve} McIntosh of Palmdale, California; two grandchildren, Stacia {Derek} Kuhen of Carlsbad, California and Dr.Jordan {Amanda} Stuckey of Defiance, Ohio and her great grandchildren; Marchesa, Oliver, Henry and Christopher, McKenna, Grayson and Addilyn.

Her family was her whole world and each and every one of us has benefited in untold ways from her kind, loving and generous heart. She will be missed beyond words and her passing has left a huge void in our lives and in our hearts. Her legacy will live on through her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she considered her most cherished and precious gifts.

“A heart of gold stopped beating. Hard working hands now rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us. He only takes the best”.

Arrangements are pending at the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold. A memorial service will be scheduled after the holidays. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Fairlawn Haven or Southern Comfort Hospice. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.
