A Montpelier man, Bradley Gilbert, has pleaded guilty to a murder charge during a final pretrial conference yesterday in the death of Jonathan Hofner of Wauseon. Gilbert took a plea deal and other charges were dropped. The 22-year-old was arrested in North Carolina after admitting to deputies there that he’d killed Hofner and told them where to find the body, according to reporting from a Surry County TV station. Gilbert is being held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio and his $2 million bond has been revoked, according to the prosecutor. He’ll be sentenced on September 7th in Williams County Common Pleas Court.
