The Williams County Court of Common Pleas says 22-year-old Bradly Gilbert is competent to stand trial for the killing of Jonathan Hofner last October. Gilbert had pleaded not guilty by reason on insanity after his arrest in November. The Toledo Court Diagnostic and Treatment center evaluated Gilbert and determined he is able to assist in his own defense. Hofner’s body was found near a hiking trail just north of Montpelier. Gilbert was tracked to North Carolina, where he reportedly went to visit friends. He’s being held at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for May 5th.
